Hi folks! My name is Mark Horbinski and I have served as a teacher, coach, and official in Wisconsin for over 27 years. I've coached numerous sports including track and field, cross country, football, and basketball at the youth, middle, and high school levels.

I am very passionate about sportsmanship and the role it plays in athletics and character development. As a result, in 2015 I created a grassroots movement called WON80 with a mission to lead a return to sportsmanship through awareness, education, and inspiration. WON80 encourages us to focus on our own behaviors and actions which will in turn allow us to positively impact our teammates, teams, schools, and communities.

I would love to have the opportunity to learn more about your programs and discuss ways WON80 can partner with you to spread the important message of positive sportsmanship. Whether through an evening presentation to your parents or booster club, a workshop for your teams, or networking between colleagues where we learn from one another. Together, we can have a lasting impact on our athletic communities and the kids we serve.

Peace be the Journey -

"So many speakers who are former coaches mainly focus on the performance aspect of playing sports: commitment, being a team player, fundamentals, etc.  All those are important, but the message Mark brought to our parents and players was a deep dive into seeing the big picture of high school sports with his focus on SUPPORTSMANSHIP and Victory with VIRTUE.  After watching his superb presentations I came away with so much more substantive information that will vastly improve our programs, parents and students.  He raises the expectations for everyone that listens to his message through self-reflection and understanding each person's role within high school athletics.”

“Mark came to our activities code meeting for our students and parents this summer. I couldn’t be happier with his presentation on SUPPORTSMANSHIP. I’ve had many parents come to me since then and say what a great speaker Mark was and what an important message he delivered. We all need a reminder on how to demonstrate sportsmanship - as a parent, teacher, student, or community member. Mark is clearly passionate about this topic. If your school has not had Mark present before, I would highly recommend it.”

“I attended Mark’s presentation Victory with VIRTUE at the Scenic Bluffs Conference Leadership Summit and I found it to be a great blend of hands-on activities for student-athletes.  His presentation has relevance for teenagers, engages them in meaningful discussion, and they leave with ideas and tools that can be taken back to their teams for direct application.”

“Mark’s presentation of Victory with VIRTUE is exactly what our schools and communities need to have as the focus in sports. It is an education based program that teaches student-athletes how to turn sports into behavioral life lessons regardless of wins or losses.”

“After attending Coach Horbinski's Victory with VIRTUE presentation, I have a totally new outlook on my sportsmanship in the sports I compete in. I now realize that my interactions with the other student-athletes I play with and against have a direct impact on how I will be remembered in the future.”

"Mark's 3 hour VIRTUE Team Workshop was lively, heartfelt, and powerful, and our girls walked away with the tools to make a change. I would recommend a similar workshop to any team looking to unite around a common, higher purpose. These are the types of activities we owe our student-athletes if we truly want to make our athletic programs lasting and meaningful. Thanks, Mark!”

Mike Flanagan
Girls Basketball Coach

Black Hawk High School

"Mark delivered an excellent VIRTUE Team Workshop to our Hillsboro GBB team. He hit on topics that we have never discussed, even though they are truly vital to a strong program. We discussed the importance of not just being an athlete on the court, but what it takes to be a great athlete off the court. Topics of being a great community member, a great peer, a great student all were discussed in a much deeper way than just the normal passing conversation. Our players had to really think what does it mean to be great at these things!

Overall, this was one of the best workshops I've ever been a part of for a team. Everything was engaging, well paced, and exciting for our team. I'd strongly recommend any team to bring Mark in regardless of your situation!"
